Tasmania is Top-Must See Destination for 2009

Investors considering Australia for buying property for rent have an added reason to do so quickly; Bay of Fires in the Australian province of Tasmania has been named the top must-see destination in 2009 by Lonely Planet.
Tasmania is an island the size of Ireland located 240 kilometres across the Bass Strait from the southern tip of the Australian mainland. Over a third of the state has been designated a World Heritage Area, a refuge for rare plants and animals. The island is a treat for history buffs with well-preserved historic villages along the coastal rim, while the mountainous interior is extremely popular among hikers.
While Australia has been a tourist hotspot for years, the additional distinction bestowed upon Tasmania by Lonely Planet is expected to boost the number of visitors to the country. This in turn should provide impetus to the buy-to-rent market, making it an ideal time for overseas investors to consider buying property for rent in Australia.
