New South Wales was founded on January 26th 1788 as a penal colony by the British. Originally it included the whole continent and was only split up into States in later years. Claimed by Captain James Cook as a British colony in 1770 it is today the centre of commercial farming, industry, and culture in Australia. Home to the Great Dividing Range and Sydney with its famous Opera House, New South Wales is the first stop for most visitors to Australia. Distances are vast and getting from one point to the other can often take days. Luckily airfares have significantly dropped in recent years which make it easy to fly between capital cities of the various States.
NSW has so much to offer both to the visitor and property investors. Real estate is available in many forms and prices and will suit just about everybody in terms of wishes and budget. Whether you are after a stunning beach side house or happy to settle for a small town investment property away from the hustle and bustle of mainstream tourism, you will find something to please.
